Uber, Bolt, Cabify and Taxis at Alicante Airport

All three ride-hailing apps work at Alicante-Elche Airport. After collecting your luggage, go out through Arrivals on the ground floor (Planta 0) and follow the app to your driver: Aena, the airport operator, lists Uber, Cabify and Bolt pickups there. In August 2026 Bolt announced its own marked pickup points at the airport; their location and start date haven’t been published yet.

Cabify’s map of its pickup point at the airport. The app shows the exact spot, which can change.

Taxis wait at the rank outside Arrivals. They are Elche taxis (Radio Taxi Elche and Servitaxi Elche), because the airport is in the municipality of Elche. Any taxi ride that starts or ends at the airport adds an airport supplement of 4.55€ (Elche’s 2026 tariffs; Aena’s page still shows an older amount, 4.25€).

Uber Options in Alicante

In Alicante the app offers UberX (private-hire cars with a VTC licence) and Uber Taxi (regular taxis, which charge the official fare). Other options can appear depending on availability.

Uber Prices in Alicante

UberX prices change with demand, and the app shows the price before you confirm. They are usually higher at busy times: when flights land, in bad weather or during the Hogueras festival in June (Hogueras guide).

Uber first announced Alicante in 2019, but regional rules on VTC licences held it back for years. It finally launched on 26 June 2024.

Bolt in Alicante

Bolt launched in Alicante on 26 February 2026, with private-hire cars (more than 30 electric ones at launch) and taxis. It also offers vans adapted for wheelchair users.

For the airport, Bolt lets you book a ride from 30 minutes to 90 days ahead and link your flight, so the pickup moves if the flight is late; if the flight is cancelled, you can cancel at no cost. The app is available for Android and iPhone (Bolt in Alicante).

Cabify in Alicante

Cabify was in Alicante before Uber and works much the same way: you book in the app, see the price first and pay in the app. You can ride now or book for later, and it can also send an official taxi (the Taxi option), which charges the official fare. Download it from Google Play or the App Store.

Cabify’s published rates for Alicante:

  • Cabify (standard): from 0.93€ per km and 0.21€ per minute; minimum fare 4.33€.
  • Electric: from 1.14€ per km and 0.30€ per minute.
  • Extra Comfort: from 1.25€ per km and 0.28€ per minute; minimum fare 7.50€.
  • Rides starting at the airport: +1.20€.

These are base rates: prices rise with demand, and the app gives you the final price before you book.

Freenow, PideTaxi and Other Taxi Apps

Freenow, now “Freenow by Lyft”, books regular taxis in Alicante: in Spain it only offers taxis. You pay the official fare in the app or to the driver, and you can book up to 90 days ahead. Download it from Google Play or the App Store.

PideTaxi is the app of Spain’s radio-taxi associations. In Alicante it books Radio Tele Taxi Alicante cabs at the official fare, with no surge pricing, and it also works in Benidorm. It runs on the web and on Android and iPhone (pidetaxi.es). You can also call Radio Tele Taxi Alicante on +34 965 25 25 11.

At the airport, taxis come from Elche: Radio Taxi Elche has an information desk in Arrivals and takes bookings on +34 965 42 77 77.

Taxi Fares in Alicante (2026)

Taxi fares are set by the authorities and shown on the meter; luggage is free, and you can pay in cash or by card. Rides within Alicante use the city tariff. Rides between towns, such as from the airport to Alicante or Benidorm, use the interurban tariff.

TariffFlag fallPer kmWaiting / hourMinimum

Alicante city, night and holidays2.25€1.52€28.48€6.15€
Between towns, dayabout 2.25€1.46€19.00€–
Between towns, night and weekends2.25–2.80€1.68€21.40€–

In Alicante city the day tariff applies on weekdays from 06:00 to 21:00 and on Saturdays from 06:00 to 15:00; the other tariff applies the rest of the time, on Sundays and on holidays. Between towns, the night tariff applies from 21:00 to 07:00, at weekends and on holidays.

Supplements:

  • Rides starting or ending at the airport: 4.55€ (Elche’s 2026 tariffs).
  • Alicante city during the Hogueras (21–25 June), on Carnival Saturday and on some holiday nights: 3€.
  • Tolls: paid by the passenger, if you choose a toll road.
  • Luggage: free.

Example: Alicante airport to Benidorm, about 60 km on a weekday, comes to 2.25€ + 60 × 1.46€ + 4.55€ ≈ 94€ on the meter; booked in advance, Servitaxi Elche charges 90€.

Tariffs checked on 27 September 2026. Sources: Radio Tele Taxi Alicante (city and interurban tariffs), Alicante Plaza (Elche’s 2026 tariffs and airport supplement) and Todo Taxi (2026 interurban tariffs).

Which Is Cheapest: Uber, Bolt, Cabify or a Taxi?

It depends on the time and on demand. Taxi fares are set by law and don’t rise with demand; app prices do. So the apps can beat a taxi at quiet times and cost more when a flight lands or during festivals. Before you book, open two or three apps and compare their prices with the taxi fares above.

Yes. They work with VTC licences (vehículos de turismo con conductor, private-hire vehicles), which are not taxi licences. A VTC car has to be booked in advance through an app: it can’t be hailed in the street or wait at a taxi rank.

Relations between taxis and VTC firms have been tense in Spain for years, with protests and court cases. In May 2026 the Valencian government froze new VTC licences for two years and provisionally allowed VTC cars to keep doing rides within cities while a study sets the balance between taxis and VTCs (Generalitat announcement).
